In late 2006, DMV was introduced to a young man filled with total and complete individuality…NandoMcFlyy. (spelled correctly), born Fernando Moore has already began to create some-what of a major buzz. 2007 was indeed a very big year for Nando. The release of “TheCarryOut” mixtape, a vintage hip hop mixtape with a variety of beat choices from Amy Winehouse to Pharcyde to Rich Boy. This mixtape also featured fellow DMV based artists such as: Azizi Gibson, Revilo Savage, Marky (Studio 43/SRC/Universal) & Izzy Battle. The mixtape has been a very big deal on various blogs and forums such as hiphopdx creating the question, “Who is NandoMcFlyy.?” DMV Super-Producer Judah took Nando under his wing in 2007. Judah has even established Nando a name among various big names in the area. “With Judah schooling me, I got to meet the Wale’s, the Tabi Bonney’s, Kenny Burns, etc. I’m thankful that he took the chance he took with me…” Far from your average rapper/emcee’s, Nando is also a performer and entertainer and has performed in other states outside of the DMV. Creativity and individuality is a must for a tastemaker such as Nando. “My sneaker collection is pretty sick…but it’s not odee sick. I mean I got a couple pairs dudes really want, but I’m not gonna brag about it.” also in 2007 street wear companies HOFe & Good Bully’s attention were caught by McFlyy which created intrest in future collaborations with the two companies. As the year turned to 2008 things just seem to get bigger and bigger for this 20-year-old young man. Now with a hand in one of the area’s most talked-about blogsites, voiceofthemetro.com, founded by Robert “Lyriciss” Bailey, and being backed by one of Virginia’s most respected up-and-coming labels, Prolific Entertainment, it is time to silence all doubts and quiet all critics with what is being called one of the most anticipated mixtapes from an artist from the DMV, aside of Mr. Folarin, “S.N.E.S.” (Sep Nando Everyone Sucks!). “I mean I can honestly say I feel that way. Not because I feel I’m better than ANYONE. More so because I feel like I get the most respect AND love from everyone home. Now it’s time for me to travel to places like New York, ATL, Miami & LA. Dudes from here either get respect or love….I get both. And I know these bammas pissed cause of that.”
